On the same day as Pablo Picasso, and in the same year Jean-Michel Basquiat left us, artist Cavier Coleman was born in Detroit Michigan. As a multi-talented man with a one-of-a-kind name, his basketball skills secured a scholarship to Emmanuel College. Although his talent was undeniable, basketball wasn’t his passion, and when, in his second year of college, a model scout discovered Cavier, he decided to pursue modeling full time. Successful modeling and photography pursuits heightened his artistic interests and urged him to revisit his childhood interest, painting. Cavier says, “I remember my mother teaching the importance of having great handwriting, and I developed drawing skills from mimicking her.” Fittingly, his paintings are most influenced by Pablo Picasso & Jean Michel Basquiat, but the style is unmistakably Cavier. High contrast, bold lines, and vibrant color schemes prevail in both his paintings and photographs. The depth and layering of his pieces work to conceal the extraordinary amount of hidden meaning within. With charm, personal, political and social issues invite the viewer's eye. In New York City, Cavier has been featured in the Bottle Neck gallery, RAW: Artist Showcase, and The Great Pass Art Tour. Presently, He is involved in several projects and has work in several store displays, agency websites, and art galleries across the globe and is working towards becoming a household name
